Truly a modern day mission field, 50 percent of Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA) students come from non-Christian homes. However, with the generous support of our Mainland Advisory Council members and friends, HBA is able to continue the work that Southern Baptist missionaries began in 1949 by giving every student the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and to experience the life changing difference He can make.

Although times and technology continue to change, the work that missionaries began over 60 years ago continues today. While several of Hawaii’s top academic private schools have recently chosen to distance themselves from their Christian heritage, Hawaii Baptist Academy has chosen to remember its humble beginnings and embrace its Christian mission of preparing young people in Hawaii to honor God with their lives.

In order to compete with other top-rated private schools in Hawaii, HBA must incorporate its strong Christian values and outstanding academic curriculum with modernized facilities so that we are able to maintain our enrollment at a level that continues to sustain our operations as well as provide for the on-going maintenance needs of the campus.

It is for this reason that HBA is embarking on a $17.0 million capital campaign to acquire property for future growth, construct a new three-level Science and Arts Building, renovate the Learning Resource Center and enhance the athletic facilities. These improvements will expand HBA’s science, arts and technology programs so that students can successfully compete globally, and use their knowledge and imagination to create as well as inspire. Key features of the project include:
