About HBA

Elise Uyehara was the recipient of three individual awards for her science project entitled “Finding the Best Non-Toxic Methods to Kill Aphids”.  Her project was placed in the environmental science category and was recognized for outstanding work in areas of particular interest of different organizations and companies.  Elise received first place honors from both the Hawaii Association of Environmental Professionals and the Pioneer HI Bred International, Inc.  With each award she also received a $100.00 prize.  She also placed second by the Hawaiian Entomological Society, with a prize of $40.
 
Congratulations also to Mrs. Pauline Higa for receiving the $100 Teacher Award from the Hawaii Association of Environmental Professionals who recognized her for the support she provided her students in preparation for and during the Science and Engineering Fair.
