2010 World Future Society Awards
Two HBA students receive top honors in a national essay contest sponsored by the World Future Society (WFS)
Graduate Trevor Hu (’09) received first place for his written composition about the decline in morals and values in society in relation to a technologically advanced world (submitted as a senior at HBA). Senior Nicole Watts (’10) received third place for her essay on the effect of social networking on society.
The goal of the contest is to spark interest in foresight and to encourage students to explore the many ways that the study of the future has impacted the world. Both students will have their essays featured in an upcoming issue of the professional publication, World Future Review: A Journal of Strategic Foresight.
Based in Washington, D.C., the World Future Society is a nonprofit, nonpartisan scientific and educational association of people interested in how social and technological developments are shaping the future.
