After a hard-fought match in a packed courtroom between HBA’s Black and Gold teams Feb. 12, the Judge took a long time to make her decision. While she was out adding up the score, the teams combined to sing the alma mater and pose for yearbook pictures. The verdict: Black 97 to Gold 95. Awards for Best Attorney went to junior Caleb Alipio and freshman Merril Adachi and for Best Witness to senior Christie Wong and freshman Kimberly Ing.
The Black team, which includes older and more experienced players, now prepares for the State Tournament on Mar. 8. The winning teams from the Kauai, Maui and Big Island circuits will meet at the Hawaii Supreme Court building to determine the State Champion.
