During
their respective seasons, wrestler Risha Mishima and swimmer Catherine
Nakamura compete for PAC-5, the small-school conglomerate in the
Interscholastic League of Honolulu. But come state championship time,
each 17-year-old junior carries the Hawaii Baptist Academy banner.
Mishima, who claims wrestling is her "second" sport, blasted through four opponents to win the 130-pound division of the Hawaii High School State Athletic Association wrestling tournament, while Nakamura endured at
least three rounds of competition to place third in the 100 backstroke
and fourth in the 100 butterfly at the HHSAA swimming and diving
championships.
