At HBA, students can participate in a wide variety of clubs and activities that extend their experiences beyond the classroom. Clubs, such as Science Olympiad, Math League, Generation Green, and Robotics, encourage students to explore and develop skills in science and math. National Honor Society, Interact, and Salt and Water provides students with opportunities to give back through community service. Language clubs, including Japanese and Chinese, provide cultural experiences. The Mock Trial Club allows students to learn the justice system, and Model UN delegates debate current global issues.
School Theme: Love Does
Our school-wide theme for the 2015-2016 school year is “Love Does.” Based on the book by best-selling author Bob Goff, our desire is to grow into a community that demonstrates kind and purposeful interaction, both at school and in our local and global neighborhood. To every student, faculty and staff member, our challenge is learning to be 'secretly incredible,' which means learning that people are not a project, and to practice attitudes that demonstrate gratitude, fun, thoughtfulness, and blessing others. Our desire is to not only be a great college preparatory school, but one that demonstrates the incredible, creative love of Jesus Christ for of us. This kind of love does change the world.
