HBA Sweeps Homecoming Games

In keeping with tradition, a huge turnout of Eagle supporters once again returned to HBA's Dan Liu Gymnasium for Homecoming on Friday, January 9. The capacity crowd of about 1,000 also went home happy as both HBA teams earned victories for the fourth consecutive year.

Nicole Chong '06 Crowned First Princess at Narcissus Queen Pageant

Nicole LeeAnn Wai Yi Chong '06 was crowned 1st Princess at the 66th Annual Narcissus Queen Pageant on Saturday. She was also voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow competitors, and brought home the pageant's newest honor, Miss Social Media, for collecting the most "likes" on the pageant's Facebook page.

HBA Basketball Teams Take Games On the Road

The HBA boys varsity basketball team traveled to Kauai to participate in the Kapaa High School Warrior Pre-Season Tournament. The tourney – held December 4-6 – included six teams, with HBA going 2-1 in their games.

HBA's Senter Wins Gold

HBA's Sydney Senter has brought home a gold medal for the United States. On November 17, the sixth grader beat out Russia and Great Britain, who claimed the silver and bronze medals, at the 2014 Trampoline and Tumbling World Age Group Competitions in Florida in the women's 11-12 double mini-trampoline (DMT).

Kindergarten Ohana Thanksgiving

HBA's kindergarten class hosted their annual Ohana Thanksgiving on Wednesday. The celebration began with a musical program as the students sang songs to their families about Jesus and being thankful. The festivities continued with students making cornhusk dolls, practicing penmanship with ink and feathers, needle point, making "turkeys" with red apples, toothpicks, marshmallows and raisins, wax candles and husking corn.

HBA senior BJ Hosaka has been selected by a panel of national judges as the 2014 Wendy's Heisman Award winner for the state of Hawaii. The national announcement of the state winners was made online by the Wendy's corporation on November 10.
