2010 Alumna Palmer Named Big 12 Scholar-Athlete at University of Texas

2010 HBA graduate Sarah Palmer finished her stellar collegiate career by leading the University of Texas Longhorns womens volleyball team to three Final Fours and the 2012 NCAA Division 1 National Championship. She was a four-year starter for Texas, including three years at the demanding libero position.

Kindergarten Class Celebrates Easter

The kindergarten class kicked off Easter weekend with an Easter Egg hunt. All of the kindergarten families brought plastic eggs stuffed with toys, candies and other goodies for the occasion. To add a twist to the event, each kindergarten class was responsible for hiding a set of eggs for another class. So all of the students got to hide eggs and also find them.

2012 Alumna Salvador Helps UH-Hilo To Title

Jade Salvador '12 turned in a career-best performance to help the University of Hawaii at Hilo's womens golf team to the 2014 Pacific West Conference Championship. Her two-day individual total of 151 (76-75) was just one stroke behind teammate Kristen Sawada (150, 74-76), who earned medalist honors.

HBA Fun Fair 2014

Hawaii Baptist Academy's Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) hosted the 2014 Fun Fair on Saturday, April 26. The fair featured onolicious grindz such as a kalbi plate, teriyaki burgers, cotton candy and malasadas for the very first time. Guests also enjoyed a bake sale, a country store filled with hundreds of homemade crafts and food, including Aunty Thelma's Iced Tea and a frozen lemonade, rides, games and more. The featured entertainers for the event were Kapena and former radio personality Dawn O'Brien.

HBA junior Jeffrey Liang finished runner-up at the recent HHSAA/Carlsmith Ball State Tennis Championships. The tourney was May 1-3 at the Wailea and Makena Tennis Clubs on Maui.

The 26th Annual Young Artists Exhibition was held May 5 - May 6 at HBA's elementary school. Beautiful artwork, including colorful paintings, drawings and ceramics, by students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade were displayed inside the school's parlor and chapel courtyard.

Kindergartener's Host Tea Party to Celebrate Mother's Day

Hawaii Baptist Academy's kindergarten class kicked off Mother's Day weekend with a special presentation and tea party on Friday. The students performed three songs, which celebrated the love and care that their mothers have for them. They then served tea, scones, strawberries and cookies, and presented handmade cards and other small gifts to their mothers.

HBA Wins Boys Volleyball State Title

The HBA boys varsity volleyball team is a state champion once more. The team defeated a game Seabury Hall squad 21-25, 26-24, 25-12, 25-20 before about 1,500 fans at the Neal Blaisdell Center on May 10 to win the 2014 New City Nissan HHSAA Division 2 State Volleyball Championship. The title is the Eagles' sixth in the past seven years. (Seabury Hall won the 2010 championship, while HBA finished in third place that year.)
