Fourth Graders Fly to Maui

HBA's fourth graders flew to Maui during the first week of March to study Hawaii's history firsthand. The students visited the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, the Bailey House and the Whaler's Village Museum. They also visited the Iao Valley Needle, the Hawaii Nature Center, Lahaina, the Maui Ocean Center and enjoyed a spectacular performance by 'Ulalena.

Third Graders Donate $1,000 to Oahu SPCA

The kindergarten class celebrated Valentine's Day with their senior buddies at Malulani Hale on Tuesday. The students sang songs, recited scripture and gave handmade cards to each of their buddies. In following with the theme of Valentine's Day, Lisa Lichtenberg, kindergarten teacher, told the seniors that the students are reminders of God's love for them.

Hawaii Baptist Academy's littlest entrepreneurs set up shop today at the Third Grade Mini Market to sell goods to their classmates. The Mini Market is a hands-on lesson where students learn the basics of economics by creating their own "business."

HBA's Senter Wins Gold

HBA's Sydney Senter has brought home a gold medal for the United States. On November 17, the sixth grader beat out Russia and Great Britain, who claimed the silver and bronze medals, at the 2014 Trampoline and Tumbling World Age Group Competitions in Florida in the women's 11-12 double mini-trampoline (DMT).

Kindergarten Ohana Thanksgiving

HBA's kindergarten class hosted their annual Ohana Thanksgiving on Wednesday. The celebration began with a musical program as the students sang songs to their families about Jesus and being thankful. The festivities continued with students making cornhusk dolls, practicing penmanship with ink and feathers, needle point, making "turkeys" with red apples, toothpicks, marshmallows and raisins, wax candles and husking corn.
