A Growing Place

If you think of a school as only a set of classrooms, Hawaii Baptist Academy is much more than a school. It is a place where children are safe and encouraged to always do their best. It is a place where children are nurtured by caring teachers and staff in every area of their lives. It is a place for children to grow into all that God created them to be. It is a growing place.

“Christ for Every Nation” is Hawaii Baptist Academy’s motto, and HBA has stayed true to this Christian mission of preparing young people to honor God with their lives. We believe that a life that truly honors God...

  • is Christ-centered, beginning with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • is marked by excellence, doing our best in every area of life
  • helps others, especially those who are in need
  • gives us our highest meaning and purpose

We partner with parents to prepare children for success in college and careers. But we also help children grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally so that they are prepared for life. We help them become all that God intends them to be.

Hawaii Baptist Academy is a co-educational, college preparatory school serving more than 1,000 K-12 students from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. Begun by Southern Baptist missionaries in 1949, HBA has become one of Hawaii’s top academic schools. Since 1993, 100% of our graduates have been accepted to college and our students consistently score well above the state and national averages on standardized tests. HBA is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is licensed by the Hawaii Council of Private Schools. The school's 12-member board of director is selected by the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. HBA is located on three campuses in Nu‘uanu near downtown Honolulu.
