9th-12th GRADES:                             

1.    Congratulations to all students who contributed artistic skills for Homecoming.  If you borrowed paint brushes and supplies, please return them to D-1.  If any of you want to get rid of any extra paints and supplies, please also bring them to D-1.  {Mr. Kaneshiro}

2.    INTERACT CLUB: There will be a meeting at lunch this Friday in the gym.  This is a mandatory meeting for those going to Pahole.  {Mrs. Goya}

3.    Handbell Ensemble:  If you are interested in signing up for Handbell Ensemble next year, you will be required to pay a visit to Mrs. Logan in Room 301 for her signature.  Prerequisites for the course are handbell class and/or teacher approval.

4.    Theater: Next year’s theater courses will consist of a semester each of COMEDY and MUSICAL THEATER.  If you are interested in either or both you need a signature from Mrs. Logan in Room 301.

5.    FROM MR. OSHIRO, Athletic Director:
a.    All Students:  If you're interested in trying out for a spring sport, please note the flyers posted around campus.  The information is also posted on the athletics page of the school website:  www.hba.net  Contact me in the athletic office (564-0327) or via e-mail at doshiro@hba.net if you or your parents have any questions. 
b.    All Varsity Athletes:  Please sign up for and pick up your varsity jacket from the athletic office if you are either a first-year varsity participant OR did not receive your jacket last year.  These are courtesy of the HBA Athletic Booster Club and are approved for wear on campus.
c.    All Winter Sport Athletes:  If your season has finished, please launder, bag, and return your school issued uniforms to the athletic office as soon as possible.  Consumable items like t-shirts and undergarments are yours to keep.  Everything else must be returned. 
d.    All Students:  If you're interested in trying out for a spring sport, please sign up as soon as possible...9th-12th graders in the athletic office, 7th-8th graders with Mrs. Matsushima in the MS principal's office.  We need to check that your student health record and athletic handbook agreement form are current and on file.  We're also trying to make transportation plans for various sports. 
e.    All 9th-12th Graders:  Tryouts for jv and varsity golf begin today, Monday, February 1st at Olomana Golf Course.  Golf clubs may be left on the lanai outside the athletic office.  If you're planning on trying out today, I will need your grade check by lunch time so I can distribute your early release pass.  Please meet outside the athletic office by 2:15 PM WHETHER YOU NEED A RIDE OR NOT. 

9th GRADE:
  The 2010-2011 registration packets will be distributed in advisory period on Thursday, Feb. 4. 
Mrs. Smith will be visiting the 9th grade English classes to answer any questions you may have.  There will be a restricted course sign-up in the breezeway on Wednesday, Feb. 10 during lunch.   Please be sure to discuss your course selection with your parents and have them sign your registration form.  Registration folders must be submitted to your counselor by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10.  {Mrs. Hirae}

10th GRADE:  Your counselor will distribute the 2010-2011 registration packets in English classes on Thursday.   There will be a restricted course sign-up in the breezeway on Wednesday, Feb. 10 during lunch.  Please be sure to discuss your course selection with your parents and have them sign your registration form.  Registration folders must be submitted to your counselor to by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 11.  That's camp day--be sure to turn your folder in before you leave for camp.  {Mrs. Hirae}

10th & 11th GRADES: 
1.    Sophomores and Juniors--Registration for next year is coming up.  If you would like to take an AP class in the Social Studies department, such as AP World History, AP US History, AP Psychology, or AP Government, please be sure to pick up an application from your Social Studies teacher or Mrs. Nakano and turn it in to Mrs. Nakano in room 107 by Friday, February 5th.  The list of those accepted will be posted on Tuesday, February 9th in time for getting signatures in the mall area on Wednesday.  After that date, your acceptance will depend on space available; you could be put on a wait list.  Curious?  Come see me and ask more questions.  {Mrs. Nakano}

2.    For current sophomores and juniors: There will be a new semester-long, elective course next year called Weightlifting & Conditioning.  Please review the course announcement which will be posted in your homeroom and around campus for more information.  Sign up for the course by writing it into your registration form.  No need to get any signatures.  Check with Mr. Namba if you have any questions.
