9th-12th GRADES:
      

1.    Congratulations to Matthew J./9F.  He was awarded 2nd place (level 1) at the 41st Annual KZOO Japanese Speech Contest for all high school students in Hawaii on April 24th.  His speech was about his family.  We are proud of him!  {Mrs. Kusumoto)

2.    Congratulations!  Two more winners for our Reading Revolution!  Johnathan L. (11-H) and Kira G. (9T) are the newest winners for $5.00 gift cards from Starbucks for getting caught reading!  We'll be choosing winners until the end of the year so keep on reading!  {Mrs. Huster}

3.    *All library books are due May 19, 2010. To avoid demerits or detention for overdue books, please be sure to return your books on time. Be sure to pay any fines that are due at the time you return your books. Thank you.  {Mrs. Huster and Mrs. Hayashi}

5.    *Kamehameha Schools, through ALU LIKE, Inc., is providing Native Hawaiian summer school assistance at private schools that are members of the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), excluding Kamehameha Schools and private universities.  (HBA is an HAIS member school; other member schools can be found at the HAIS website—www.hais.org.)  Preference is given to students of Native Hawaiian ancestry.  The maximum scholarship award will be up to $300.00 per student.  Last day for submitting an application is May 31, 2010.  If you are interested, please go to the Admissions Office for an application.   {Mrs. Lee}

6.    This Thursday is National Day of Prayer. 
Let's join together and lift up our school, our state, our country and our world to God.  Posters will be posted around campus with more info.  {Mrs. Gruspe}

7.    (Servant Group)  Please sign-up with Mrs. Gruspe by tomorrow if you are interested in going to the evangelism training on Saturday, May 8th led by Gary Hamrick.  {Mrs. Gruspe}

8.    All Varsity Athletes:  Please remember to turn in your Varsity Banquet forms and payments to the athletic office by Friday, May 7th. If you lost your form or did not receive one, you may pick one up at the athletic office.  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro

9.      All Students:  If you played a spring sport, please launder, bag and return your school or Pac-5 issued uniform to the athletic office as soon as possible.  <Senior-Remember that this is a requirement on your graduation checklist...uniforms must be returned in order to walk at graduation!>  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro

10th GRADE:    Reminder:  10th grade girls Bible Study on Wednesday during lunch in Mrs. Gruspe's room.

Freshmen:  Interested in learning more about next year's East Coast Trip?  An informational meeting will be held on May 20 from 6-7 p.m. in the MPR.  Hear testimony from students and parents who have recently participated in this educational program and learn more of what to expect from the trip and what will be expected of you.  There's no obligation to attend the meeting, and light refreshments will be served.  Don't miss this opportunity to learn first-hand about America's past with the class of 2013!  If you're interested in being part of the HBA delegation to the East Coast, please RSVP in room 300B, or with Mr. Herder by May 18.
