9th GRADE:
1.    WELL DONE CLASS OF 2013!
  There were 47 students from the Freshmen Class that volunteered to “SERVE” at the HBA Fun Fair last month.  In appreciation for their awesome service, these students will receive a special coupon in homeroom which is redeemable for a specific ice cream treat from the snack bar. Way to go Freshmen and Freshwomen!  {P. Sumida/Mrs. Hirae}

2.    *Freshmen:  Interested in learning more about next year's East Coast Trip?  An informational meeting will be held on May 20 from 6-7 p.m. in the MPR.  Hear testimony from students and parents who have recently participated in this educational program and learn more of what to expect from the trip and what will be expected of you.  There's no obligation to attend the meeting, and light refreshments will be served.  Don't miss this opportunity to learn first-hand about America's past with the class of 2013!  If you're interested in being part of the HBA delegation to the East Coast, please RSVP in Room 300B or with Mr. Herder by May 18. If you can't make the meeting but are interested in taking part in this learning adventure, please sign-up with Mr. Honzaki in Room 300B.  Spaces for this trip are limited, so reserve yours today!  {Mr. Honzaki}

10th GRADE:
1.    Bible Study for 10th grade girls on Wednesday, during lunch in Mrs. Gruspe's room.

2.    Sophomores:  All of your teachers and I really care about you and we want to do what we can to ensure the success of every one of our students.  Therefore, please be advised that I have asked all teachers who have sophomores in their classes to send me a list of students who are behind in their work as of Wednesday, May 12.  Being "behind" refers to missing or incomplete homework assignments or in-class work.  These students will then be required to attend Homework Lab after school every day, from Friday, May 14, through the last regular day of classes, or until the teacher advises me that the student(s) does/do not need to attend additional sessions of  Homework Lab.  Please know that while extra-curricular activities are important, they are secondary to academic success and that Homework Lab, from 3:00 PM through 4:00 PM every day except Tuesdays,  takes precedence over all other activities.  Students who are subsequently released from Homework Lab may be required to resume attending if they fall behind again. So, please do what you need to do to be current and to keep up with your work.  {Ms. Neely, Sophomore Guidance Counselor}

10th & 11th GRADES:  AP Students for next school year -- Your parents will be receiving a letter soon regarding the ordering of AP textbooks.  Please be on the look out for the letter and make sure you order your AP textbooks in a timely manner.  If you have any questions about ordering, please see Mrs. Huster.
