Student Handbook Agreement: If your signed "AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW The Hawaii Baptist Academy Student Handbook 2010-2011" was not turned in to your homeroom teacher, you were issued one demerit on Friday, Aug. 27.

check the Lost and Found office for your lost items, including your HBA uniforms and black jackets. Items left unclaimed will be donated to a non-profit organization and the school uniform will be recycled through the Eagles Closet. Voice For the Animals is a creative writing contest sponsored by the Hawaiian Humane Society as it celebrates National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, November 7-13. Students at Hawaii Baptist Academy are invited to participate in the first
Voice for the Animals language arts competition. Four Oahu middle and high school students will each win $150 and a ride along with a humane investigator. Youth will express their love for companion animals and animal shelters through poetry, song writing, manuscript or essay. Topics can focus around anti-cruelty, animal companionship, creating a pet-friendly Hawaii, spay-neutering, and more.
Deadline for entries is Sunday, October 24, 2010. For more information, go to

Attendance Office update: For seniors with senior independent period in periods A or B, please check in with the attendance office at the beginning of the period to help the staff determine attendance. Also, please don’t forget to leave your ID cards with the security guards at the end of the prior day if you plan to come to school late the next day on a Tuesday or Wednesday so that the staff knows that you are in attendance.
