“...and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” - Luke 2:52

The middle school day begins at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:05 p.m. Three days a week students attend all six of their core classes. Two days a week three of the core classes meet during extended class time. Class periods rotate daily, providing each student the opportunity to experience a different core class at the beginning of the day. Seventh grade core curriculum is comprised of the following: Foundations of Algebra, Living Science, Geography, English 7, PE/Health, Bible, and Fine Arts. Eighth grade core curriculum includes Math 1, Earth Science, American History, English 8, PE/Health, Bible and Fine Arts. Activities including student council, honor society, and Servant Group usually meet during lunch.

Students may opt to enroll in two different flex classes meeting four times a week from 2:15 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. Flex offerings may include Journalism, Drama, Band, Choir, Word Processing, Practical Arts, Japanese, Spanish, Hula, Sustained Silent Reading, and Guided Study. Students participating in after-school activities must be enrolled in flex classes.

Gender-based advisory groups are an important part of the overall development of the middle school student. Each grade level advisory program is designed to help meet the needs of the student to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, academically, and physically.

Breakfast may be purchased at the high school cafeteria. Snacks and hot lunch may be purchased on the middle school campus. Microwaves are also available to students on the middle school campus.

HBA students have a modified dress standard. Mills, Inc. is the authorized clothier for HBA dress attire. Closed shoes are a required part of the modified dress standard.
