Spiritual Growth

Christian Ministries – A Guide to Spiritual Growth

Christianity is more than a religion at Hawaii Baptist Academy; it is a way of life that centers on a personal relationship with Jesus. Through weekly chapel programs, camps, Christian Emphasis Week, homeroom devotions, Bible studies, on and off-campus ministry opportunities, and a campus culture nurtured by Christian teachers and students, HBA highly values commitment to Christ and spiritual development. A Christian ministries office helps coordinate these activities.

At the middle-high school campus, the Servant Group provides students with opportunities for further spiritual growth and service.

Christian Emphasis Week and annual grade level camps are special times set aside for the school community to concentrate on spiritual development and learning more about Christianity. Age-appropriate chapel services and discussions highlight Christian Emphasis Week at the elementary school.

All students study the Bible as part of the curriculum, but Christianity is not imposed on them. Becoming a follower of Christ and developing a Christian lifestyle are presented as the highest ideal, and students are free to make their own choices.
