In all circumstances, Hawaii Baptist Academy believes Jesus to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and we will continue to bring faith and learning together so that we may join God in the formation of people and the transformation of the world.
God was not surprised by COVID-19, nor is the situation beyond His sovereignty. Throughout the pandemic, HBA continues to believe that our mission and purpose are especially relevant and a source of hope during this time of uncertainty. While God is sovereign in all matters, we endeavor to prioritize and refine our educational practices and health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of infection within our HBA community. We understand that the HBA experience is unique, and special relationships between our teachers and students are core to our brand. Every effort will be made to preserve or replicate our signature qualities; however, this was also a time to pivot, reshape, dream, and innovate. God’s sovereignty does not allow us to sit idle; rather, it encourages us to seek His wisdom as He leads us through the unknown, because what is unknown to us has already been ordained according to His good and perfect will. These are exciting times, and an opportunity we must embrace.
In his letter to the Romans, Paul reminds Christians that nothing "in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" and "that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
In this time of uncertainty regarding COVID-19, what remains constant is the love and faithfulness of God. We deliberately and tenaciously hold on to our hope in Christ, rely on His goodness, grace, and providence, and continue to make the safety and well-being of our HBA community and families a top priority.
We pray for those affected by COVID-19 and for Hawaii Baptist Academy to be God’s light as we continue the mission of Christian education in Hawaii.
The Executive Leadership Team of Hawaii Baptist Academy
As we continue to join God in the formation of people and the transformation of the world during these unique times, we seek to align our Mission and ESLRs with our plans for reimagining and reopening our campuses.
Maintaining our strong Mission and seeking to embody our ESLRs as a community, HBA is committed to the following non-negotiables as we implement our campus reopening plans with purpose and intention to bring glory to our Lord and Savior.
The Communication Team is charged with maintaining proactive, balanced, and reassuring communication to all constituency groups both internally and externally.
Communication continues to play an important role in keeping both internal and external groups informed about the latest information as it relates to being on campus and protecting the safety and well-being of our community. Most communication is sent via email through school administration and teachers. We also communicate internally with our families via the parent portal on our website. For more urgent matters or safety situations that may impact our HBA community, we may utilize our emergency communication system which includes text, email, and robocalls.
