God was not surprised by COVID-19, nor is the situation beyond His sovereignty. Throughout the pandemic, HBA continues to believe that our mission and purpose are especially relevant and a source of hope during this time of uncertainty. While God is sovereign in all matters, we endeavor to prioritize and refine our educational practices and health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of infection within our HBA community. We understand that the HBA experience is unique, and special relationships between our teachers and students are core to our brand. Every effort will be made to preserve or replicate our signature qualities; however, this was also a time to pivot, reshape, dream, and innovate. God’s sovereignty does not allow us to sit idle; rather, it encourages us to seek His wisdom as He leads us through the unknown, because what is unknown to us has already been ordained according to His good and perfect will. These are exciting times, and an opportunity we must embrace.
In his letter to the Romans, Paul reminds Christians that nothing "in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" and "that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
In this time of uncertainty regarding COVID-19, what remains constant is the love and faithfulness of God. We deliberately and tenaciously hold on to our hope in Christ, rely on His goodness, grace, and providence, and continue to make the safety and well-being of our HBA community and families a top priority.
We pray for those affected by COVID-19 and for Hawaii Baptist Academy to be God’s light as we continue the mission of Christian education in Hawaii.
Sincerely,
The Executive Leadership Team of Hawaii Baptist Academy
