This Hearts to Serve Scholarship is available to students entering grades seven (7) through nine (9) at HBA.  We are looking for students who volunteer or contribute towards their school, community, non-profit organizations, and/or participate in community service projects.

Candidates should tell us about their hearts to serve by answering a few short questions on the application below.

Our Middle School students began capstone projects, which challenged students to use their time, resources, and talents to contribute towards the betterment of our community.  Some examples of capstone projects include organizing a Blood Drive in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Hawaii or raising money to donate to Ukrainian refugees.

These Middle School students demonstrated their hearts of service through their time, work, research, and contributions.  Thanks to generous endowments, we are looking to bring more like-minded students to join our HBA ʻohana.  However, the community service scholarships are also available to returning students entering the seventh through ninth grades.

The application forms will be reviewed by committee and will not be based on financial need.  The scholarship application must be completed and submitted by January 15, 2023, to be considered.  If you are applying your child to HBA for the first time, you must have completed the application by January 15, 2023 (our priority application deadline).  Any qualified award will be distributed after the student has been accepted for admission to HBA.  Awards will be announced at the end of March.
