Eagle Eye Named Best in State for Eighth Year

Our high school journalism team, the Eagle Eye, was named "Best in State" at the 54th Hawaii High School Journalism Awards on April 14.

The Eagle Eye continues its winning streak for an eighth year, competing against some of the best public and private school journalism programs across Hawaii. With the awards ceremony held virtually this year, students gathered in the C Building at the high school during lunch.

Reflecting the broad scope of journalism, schools were judged in 20 categories covering different forms of writing, visual media, design, and delivery platforms. Points were awarded to teams that placed in the top three or received an honorable mention, with the "Best in State" title going to the team with the most points. 

We want to congratulate faculty advisor Eunice Sim and the individual category winners from the Eagle Eye staff:

The annual event is hosted by the Hawaii Publisher's Association, The Honolulu Star Advertiser, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa's College of Social Sciences.
