On September 15, the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP) announced that Hawaii Baptist Academy seniors Sarah Kawakami-Williams and Connor Malinger are Semifinalists in this year’s competition. They are among 16,000 students, less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, in the country who scored the highest on their PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in their state.

From the approximately 16,000 Semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalist level.  Finalists will be announced in February, and they will have the opportunity to compete for more than 2,500 scholarships from the NMSP, as well as awards from corporate and collegiate sponsors.

Please join us in congratulating our Semifinalists, Sarah and Connor!  We will be praying and cheering for these well-deserving candidates who are being considered for the next round!
