HBA’s middle school students have donated $,1056.91 to Make-A-Wish Hawaii. The students raised the money in December by offering a week of no school uniforms. Those who participated were allowed to wear casual attire as long as they donated five dollars. The idea was presented by students in Mrs. Ikeno’s and Mrs. Wrobel’s homeroom classes.
“I’m very proud of these students for coming up with a simple and creative way for their classmates to give back to their community. They did a great job,” said Ikeno.
All homeroom classes at the middle school are encouraged to organize and coordinate a service project as part of their curriculum that emphasizes taking care of ourselves, each other, and this place.
