Ron Boggs
2nd HBA President
(1987–1988)
Ron Boggs spent his career in the US Foreign Service, which assigned him to various places across the world, including Turkey and Hong Kong. Through this experience, Boggs saw the importance of strategic collaboration and association.
HBA was looking for a leader who could continue the work that Col. Sagert started. With Boggs’ appointment, HBA began to elevate its standing as a premiere private school in Hawaiʻi. Boggs sought to establish connections with local companies, inviting business leaders to campus and providing a framework for institutional giving that would fund campus development and student scholarships.

Holding the same convictions as Col. Sagert’s evangelistic mission, Boggs also expanded the school’s ties with other Baptist institutions on island, and emphasized focus on the school’s Christian programs, such as its camps, chapels, and annual “Christian Emphasis Week”.
