Step 1: Request an Academic Credit Review
- Send an email to patriciachang@hba.net or admissions@hba.net with the following information.
- Student’s full name and the grade applying to
- Unofficial transcript and/or all high school report cards
- This complimentary credit review helps determine course alignment and eligibility for transfer.
Step 2: Submit the Application
- Complete the application and upload all documents through Ravenna.
- Submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
- Submit the HBA Achievement and Academic Ability Test Form.
Step 3: Register for HBA Admissions Testing
- Once your application is submitted, please sign up for the required HBA admissions exam sent to you via email.
- Submit report cards: previous year’s final report card and current year’s Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 grades.
- Submit two (2) Teacher Reference Reports from your child's current English and math teachers.
- Submit one (1) Administrator/ Counselor Reference Report from your child’s current school
- Submit one (1) Extracurricular Reference Report (e.g., coach, music teacher, club advisor).
Step 3: Schedule and Attend Parent/Student Interview
- After completing the steps above, families will be contacted to schedule an admissions interview with a member of our faculty member.
Step 4: Attend HBA Admissions Testing Appointment
- Students will complete the required HBA testing on their scheduled date. Details and instructions will be provided.
Optional: Submit SSAT Scores
- The SSAT is not required for admission to HBA.
- Applicants who wish to provide additional academic information may register at www.ssat.org and send scores to HBA using school code 3760.
If choosing to submit scores, we recommend testing by January to ensure timely processing.
