Leiton Chinn

When Leiton Chinn arrived at Hawaiʻi Baptist Academy as a seventh grader, he had little exposure to the Bible and considered himself a "C average" student. Through the influence of Bible classes and teachers like Eileen Johnson and Maureen King, God planted seeds that would shape the course of his life.

After serving in the Army and developing a love for the Korean people, Leiton returned to Korea as a self-supporting missionary. But God had a different calling in mind. While attending seminary, he discovered the strategic opportunity of reaching international students, future leaders whom God had brought to American campuses and communities.

For nearly 50 years, Leiton has served as an International Student Ministry Mobilizer with various mission agencies, helping churches catch the vision for ministry among international students and equipping believers to share the Gospel with the nations right where they are. Looking back, he is grateful for the teachers and mentors at HBA whose faithful investment helped launch a lifetime of Kingdom impact.
