THEIR STORY
Harvest Family Life Hawaii began in Brad and Esther McDaniel’s home, before they knew their “yes” to the call in James 1:27 would flourish into Harvest Family Life Hawaii–a missions organization that beautifully weaves together families, churches, and child welfare for the sake of our keiki.
WHAT THEY DO
In 1995, they welcomed their first hānai son into their home. Now, in 2026, Harvest is contracted with the Department of Human Services to recruit resource caregivers (foster parents). Their days are filled with educating and connecting others to the church’s mandate to care for orphans, finding emergency placements for children, and being present for neighbors in both joy and grief. What the McDaniels model in their organization, Harvest Family Life Hawaii, they first modeled in their home. Harvest provides services through collaboration with churches, families, and agencies.
THEIR MISSION
Their mission is to serve keiki before, during, and beyond foster care with the love of Jesus–and to support the families who care for them. It is through families, churches, and child welfare coming alongside one another that this mission can be fulfilled. They exist to see children move from abuse and neglect into safe, loving homes with more than enough resources. The love of Jesus has always been–and will always be–the heart of it all.
