“... and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace,”
Isaiah 9:6b
Overview
Since the start of 2021, we’ve begun to emerge from one of the most difficult times in the history of humanity. This Christmas, our students and faculty will share a message of hope through music, hula, testimonials, and stories, as we celebrate the birth of our Jesus Christ, who is our everlasting hope.
Our theme, “A Thrill of Hope,” is taken from the classic Christmas carol O Holy Night. In the song, the writer celebrates the “thrill of hope” of our Savior’s long-awaited coming, which was first foretold to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. In Isaiah 9:6, another prophecy tells us that our Savior will be called “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Many of us are feeling weary, and HBA wants to share praise and hope with our HBA community and beyond. We hope you can join us in prayer and celebration as we share a “Thrill of Hope” with the world.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program runs every holiday season to provide Christmas gifts to those in need. This Christmas, Hawaii Baptist Academy is sponsoring Angel Tree tags that will be distributed to families in need near The Salvation Army’s Kauluwela Corps in downtown Honolulu.
HBA is also participating with the Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child and students will be donating and packing shoebox gifts‑filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items. These shoeboxes will be sent to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift—filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
