Rick Tsujimura '68

Rick Tsujimura is a lawyer, land developer and lobbyist in Honolulu. He could also be called an international ambassador of goodwill and Good News. Rick is currently a counsel with Ashford & Wriston, LLLP. He practices in the area of of governmental relations and provides strategic business advice to companies seeking to enter and improve their business operations in Hawaii. He has worked in government as a Deputy Attorney General and in the business world of development.

Active in the community, Rick serves as chair of the Board of Governors of the East West Center, which for over 50 years has served as a U.S. based institution for public diplomacy in the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, he serves as chair on the U.S. Board of Global Hope Network International and the advisory board of the Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy, both based in Geneva, Switzerland. Rick serves on the board, subsidiaries, and committees of the Queen’s Health Systems. He is the former Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Honolulu and former Vice Chair of the Hawai‘i Community Development Authority.

Rick graduated from the University of Hawaii with honors in 1972 and received his J.D. from Loyola University in 1975. He and his wife Ruth have three sons, twins Jonathan and William (’97 HBA alums) and Matthew.
