Stanley Togikawa

Distinguished Service to Community (2014)

Stanley Togikawa was born on Kauai and attended Mid-Pacific Institute in Manoa. He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois in 1954 with a B.S. in International Trade and M.B.A. in Marketing. He received a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1959.

Stanley served as minister of education at Olivet Baptist Church for 18 years and also assisted in the business office of Hawaii Baptist Academy. He was business services and church support leader of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention, 1983-2001, during which time he enlisted large numbers of volunteers for the local Baptist work in cooperation with the North American Mission Board.

Stanley serves as president of the Shiraki Memorial Foundation which has provided scholarships to over 1,200 Hawaii seminary students since 1973. The Shiraki Foundation is also the largest local benefactor of Hawaii Baptist Academy, supporting the school’s capital projects and providing student scholarships. Stanley is also involved with numerous other mission projects funded by the Foundation. In addition, he is an active Rotarian and has been president of the Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation for nine years.
