At HBA, students can participate in a wide variety of clubs and activities that extend their experiences beyond the classroom. Clubs, such as Science Olympiad, Math League and Robotics, encourage students to explore and develop skills in science and math. National Honor Society, Interact, and Salt and Water provide service opportunities. Language clubs, including Japanese and Chinese, provide cultural experiences. The Mock Trial Club allows students to learn about the justice system, and Model UN delegates debate current global issues.
High school students have opportunities to travel during fall and spring break. Language students have traveled to Japan, China, Spain, and Peru. Junior and senior students have traveled to England and Scotland to study literature, and our Wind Ensemble has performed at Disneyland and Carnegie Hall.
Our focal theme for the 2017-18 academic year is “Transform.”It is based upon the preamble to our Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs), which states, “Believing Jesus Christ to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life, Hawaii Baptist Academy brings faith and learning together so that we may join God in the formation of people and the transformation of the world.” Our desire is be a great college preparatory school that demonstrates the transforming power of God in each person's life.
